A triode, also known as a bipolar junction transistor (BJT), is a three-terminal electronic device used for amplification and switching of electrical signals. It consists of three layers of semiconductor material, namely the emitter, base, and collector. The BJT operates by controlling the flow of current between the emitter and collector terminals through the base terminal.
